Flooring Warehouse Supervisor
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for
overseeing the general operations of the warehouse and its team, while being a
consistent and inspirational leader, holding the team accountable to the
highest levels performance and safety while maintaining an environment that reflects
our Ames values with a focus on teamwork, accountability, and respect.
What You'll Do:
- Supervise,
coach and develop warehouse team members while holding Team Members
accountable to established performance and safety standards.
- Conduct
performance reviews and collaborate with Team Members to create
development plans.
- Co-ordinate
activities such as machine repairs, picking up the garbage bins, receiving
propane tanks, with other departments (internal and external
customers/vendors).
- Prepare
and submit safety and audit reports.
- Enforce
health & safety practices in alignment with COR requirements within
the warehouse.
- Lead
the recruitment and onboarding process alongside People & Culture
and/or Management.
- Requisition
for order equipment and supplies.
- Facilitate
collaboration, cooperation, and teamwork within the warehouse.
- Oversees
daily huddles with warehouse Team Members.
- Provide
work assignments through Lead Hands.
- Contribute
to process improvements.
- Onboarding
and training of new staff in collaboration with Lead Hands.
- Responsible
for time management for all team members using the ADP system. (Team
schedules, approving timecards, vacation approvals, and sick leave).
- Ensure
trucks are loaded and/or offloaded as required.
- Develops,
recommends, and implements new policies and procedures to improve
efficiency and productivity, in collaboration with Direct Leader.
- Inventory
management by doing cycle counts, consolidating stock in one location,
- Comply
with company policies and procedures.
- Cross
training of warehouse department (Shipping, receiving and transfers).
- Perform
other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- 5
years of demonstrated front-line supervisory, planning and organization
skills Canadian experience required.
- Proven ability to supervise and lead teams of 10+ members effectively.
- Flooring
experience (IE: tile, hardwood, vinyl, and/or natural stone).
- COR or
Safety experience required.
- Possess
excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Able
to comfortably lift up to 80 lbs.
- Ability
to provide guidance, motivation, and training for development of the team.
- Ability
to cultivate, manage and foster a diverse team of Team Members.
- Highly
motivated and committed with a desire to succeed.
