We are growing as a business!
As the Junior Purchaser, you will manage vessel shipments, coordinate logistics, and ensure accurate inventory and document management. You’ll replenish stock, optimize purchasing strategies, monitor inventory levels, and communicate with teams on order status and delays. Your role includes responding to sales team requests, completing duties efficiently, and contributing positively to the team while upholding Ames’ values of respect, excellence, and accountability.
What You’ll Do:
- Track vessel shipments and coordinate
logistics.
- Communicate order status and potential delays
to teams.
- Manage documents and maintain accurate
records.
- Replenish and order stock weekly from assigned
vendors (partners).
- Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand
patterns, and implement strategies to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Develop and improve purchasing strategies for
cost optimization and supply chain efficiency.
- Respond promptly to Sales Team requests.
- Role model Ames values, fostering a culture of respect, excellence, and accountability.
Who You Are:
- Post-secondary degree in Supply Chain,
Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience in procurement
roles).
- Proven experience in purchasing, logistics, or
inventory management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to
detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills to collaborate with internal teams and vendors.
- Ability to analyze data, forecast demand, and
implement effective inventory management strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
(Excel, Word, etc.) and familiarity with inventory management software.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to
manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes
and cost optimization techniques.

$40,0000 - $60,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Work Location: Head Office in New Westminster
Work Type: Onsite (in person, because we
enjoy spending time with each other and believe curiosity and creativity is
